This is a fictional story from an imagined Earth-like world where cats run the towns. One bright morning, the cats of Whisker Hill opened a new public park made entirely of cardboard boxes.
There were tiny boxes for kittens, tall boxes for curious climbers, and one enormous box with three doorways. Mayor Pippin proudly cut the ribbon with a pair of safety scissors. “Let the exploring begin!” she announced.
Soon, a gentle problem appeared: every cat wanted the enormous box. A tabby squeezed in through one doorway while two friends tried the others. Their whiskers met in the middle, and everyone backed out with a surprised “mrrp!”
The park helpers painted a sign: “Take turns, and leave room for friends.” The cats made a simple waiting line, and they added another large box nearby. By afternoon, every visitor had found a spot to play, peek, or nap.
As the sun set, the cats agreed that the best part of the cardboard park was not any one box—it was having a place to enjoy together.
